Public Works Buildingpublic works departmentThe Woodridge Public Works Department is responsible for providing a variety of services, ranging from street repairs to water and sewer system maintenance. Public Works employs 32 full-time staff members and two part-time staff members, as well as additional seasonal part-time staff who all work together to respond to over 800 customer service requests per month.
DutiesThe department is charged with the repair and maintenance of over 98 center lane miles, or 228 lane miles, of Village streets and the adjacent parkways. These services provided include:
  • Initiation of new construction
  • Maintenance of all Woodridge roadways and parkways
  • Maintenance of street lights and traffic signals
  • Parkway tree care
  • Snow plowing
  • Street sweeping
  • Installation and maintenance of public storm sewer system
Water & Sanitary SewerPublic Works provides high quality water and sewer collection services to approximately 9,500 homes and businesses on a daily basis and delivers close to 1 billion gallons of water to customers each year. Services include:
  • Maintaining water and sewer facilities and all infrastructure
  • Water meter repairs and installation
  • Water quality, treatment and distribution

Public Works has emergency staff on call 24 hours a day. Should emergencies such as sewer back-ups or watermain breaks occur after hours, residents should call 9-1-1 so DuComm can dispatch a Public Works crew to respond.
The Public Works Department also services and repairs all village vehicles, including Police Department patrol cars.
