Yardwaste

Yardwaste CollectionYardwaste includes grass, leaves, tree trimming debris and any other plant material. Yardwaste is a valuable resource when applied to your landscape. Mulching grass clippings and leaves back into your lawn will provide nutrients to your yard. Another possibility is to compost yardwaste on your property. Information on composting is available at Village Hall and at Public Works. Yardwaste is collected on your regular pick-up day from April 1 through December 15. You may put yardwaste in either a 33-gallon Kraft paper bag or an unlined 33-gallon rigid container. Brush should be packaged in bundles no more than 4 feet in length and 2 feet in diameter. Each bundle must have a yardwaste sticker attached and cannot weigh more than 60 pounds. See the below for information on the Village's Brush Chipping Program.
Brush Drop-off ProgramThe Public Works Department and the Park District operate a site on 71st Street, just west of Woodridge Drive, where residents may drop off their brush. The site is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month, from May through October. The price is $5 for the first carload ($3 for same day returning car) and $10 per pickup truck, van or trailer. The Village site does not require bundling, has no length requirement, and can accept branches up to 8” in diameter. Only branches accepted; no leaves or grass clippings. Proof of residency is required. Chips generated by this program are made available to residents free of charge at the Woodridge Dr. site throughout the growing season.
