Trustee Martinez and his wife, Helen, moved to Woodridge in 1973, and raised their two daughters, Janice and Lisa, here. Trustee Martinez has a degree in Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Chicago. He has been a member of the St. Scholastica Parish since 1973 and has been an Usher for more than 35 years. He is also a member of the Rotary Club. Trustee Martinez was one of the original members of the Woodridge Diversity Forum group and has also served for 12 years as a Commissioner of the Zoning Board of Appeals and most recently, as a Commissioner on the Board of Police Commissioners. In 2009, he was recognized as Commissioner of the Year. Trustee Martinez worked for more than 45 years in the business world where he held different management positions in Operations and Overall Business/Facility Planning.
