The Village advises residents that private companies marketing services to provide loss prevention coverage for residential water supply lines or sanitary service lines are not a service endorsed by the Village. Those considering this type of coverage should carefully evaluate the exclusions under the agreement in order to understand what services are and are not covered by the policy, and what may still be a cost to them regardless of the coverage being purchased. Residents are also encouraged to speak with their homeowners' insurance agent and plumber regarding the value of the coverage, and the likelihood of needing to utilize the type of coverage being provided.
