Permits & Regulations

CURFEWFor minors under the age of 17, the Village has established hours for curfew. Curfew hours are Sunday through Thursday, between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., and Friday and Saturday, between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
LIQUOR & TOBACCOIn the State of Illinois, it is illegal for any persons under the age of 21 to possess any tobacco product. This includes tobacco in any form, such as cigars, cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, e-cigarettes and vapes. In the State of Illinois, it is illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to possess an alcoholic beverage. In addition, adults are responsible for alcohol-related incidents that occur on their property. To ensure compliance with these laws, the Police Department conducts compliance checks on local businesses throughout the year.
Overnight ParkingThe parking of vehicles on village streets between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 prohibited without prior approval. Parking can only be granted for one night at a time. Vehicles may only be parked overnight on the street for three nights within a 30 day period. Residents can obtain overnight parking permission online by clicking on this link.  Please note that failure to correctly enter your information may result in a ticket being issued.

On January 21, 2021, the Village Board passed an amendment to the parking ordinance to create the "Chronic Parking Violator" provision.  This provision allows for the towing of vehicles, parked on a public way, after receiving a fifth parking violation in a calendar year (January 1 to December 31).  Notice will be sent to vehicle owners upon receiving their fourth violation, advising them that any subsequent violations will cause their vehicle to be towed.

Additionally, in the event of snowfall that is expected or if snowfall exceeds 2 inches, NO overnight parking is permitted on any village street.
Overweight / Over-Dimension Travel PermitSThe incorporation of charging a fee for travel will necessitate your planning ahead to apply for a permit. The Village of Woodridge has entered into an agreement with Oxcart Permit Systems effective May 1, 2019 for all overweight and oversize vehicle permits. This new web-based system offers permit applicants a simple and effective way to obtain permits in a timely manner. Applicants must simply visit and click on the “Carrier” tab and create an account to get started (Oxcart does not support Internet Explorer). Once the account is opened, the applicant will be able to request permits through an easy to use online permit application. Once the application is electronically submitted, it will be reviewed by the Woodridge Police Department.  Upon approval, the applicant will receive notice of approval through email. The applicant can then make a payment using any major credit card and the permit will be immediately issued in an electronic format.  The application must be received at least one (1) business day before your travel date. Failure to obtain a permit prior to travel in the Village shall result in the assessment of potentially significant fines and penalties. If you have any questions regarding the application process, please contact the Woodridge Police Department at 630-719-4727.
