residential chicken keeping pilot program
The Woodridge Residential Chicken Keeping Pilot Program will run from April 5, 2024, until October 5, 2025. There is no maximum number of participants or deadline to participate in the pilot program. An inspection of the coop is required before chickens may occupy the space. Prior to expiration of the pilot program, the Village Board will determine if keeping chickens will continue to be allowed in the Village. If the program is continued, permittees would be required to register annually. There would be an annual inspection, and a fee of $50. New coop permits would continue to be granted. If the pilot program is not continued, no additional chicken keeping permits would be granted, and existing permittees would be required to remove all chickens, coops, and associated items from their properties within an established timeframe. During the initial pilot program, permit holders are subject to the regulations listed herein. Any coop that is issued three or more code violations will be required to be removed and will not be allowed to continue in the program.
