2021 Scholarship Opportunities

The Village of Woodridge is excited to highlight existing scholarships for graduating students, available in the Woodridge area. Please note, some of these are offered by outside agencies, so please pay attention to contact information, deadline dates, and other pertinent information.

Village of Woodridge / Prologis Scholarship
The Village of Woodridge and the ProLogis Foundation have scholarship applications available for Woodridge High School Seniors attending college in the fall. The primary criteria for applicants are: Woodridge residency, good citizenship, leadership potential, community or campus involvement, and academic excellence. Interested students may find the scholarship brochure and application at the Woodridge Village Hall or via the links below. Applicants should submit the completed form to the Mayor’s Office at Village Hall by Friday,  February 26. If you have any questions, please contact Leslie Davies at (630) 719-4706.

2021 Woodridge Special Events Committee Joel Kagann Scholarship

The Woodridge Special Events Committee (WSEC) is once again sponsoring their annual scholarship to honor its founder, Joel Kagann. The award will be presented to two (2) current eighth grade students living in Woodridge, based on his/her community service involvement. The award will pay $500 for both winner’s registration fees for his/her first year in high school.

Joel Kagann, founder of the Woodridge Special Events Committee, was an active member of the Woodridge Community for over 50 years.  His entire life was dedicated to serving others in the community.  The WSEC continues to honor his service through this scholarship.

Students can be nominated by their school, the service organizations(s) with whom they served or through self-nomination.  ANY eighth grader who has helped out in the community is eligible.  Please call 630-963-1975 for an application form and it will be mailed to you.  As a convenience, forms are also available in the School Offices of Jefferson Junior High School and St. Scholastica Parish School.

Nominations must be received by March 5, 2021 and the two winners will be notified by April 23, 2021.

2021 Woodridge Rotary Club Service Above Self Scholarships 
The Rotary Club is looking for students who have made a difference within their community by enriching the lives of others, especially those-in-need. There are two x $2,000 scholarships available. Applications can be completed, scanned and returned by email, or they may be mailed. An application, along with additional information, is available online.

Eligibility
:

  •  You are a graduating senior.  
  •  You are a Village of Woodridge resident.
  •  You will attend an accredited community college, trade/tech school, or four-year college or university during the 2021-2022 school year.
  • You have at least a C average grade point average.  
  •  You have participated in community service activities and done so over several years’ time.

Deadline:
Applications should be submitted via email to Pam Dubé at pdube@woodridgelibrary.org, or be printed and returned by mail or in person to Woodridge Public Library, 3 Plaza Drive, Woodridge IL 60517 by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2021. Please mark the envelope as “Rotary Scholarship.”

2021 Woodridge Rotary Club Music Scholarship
The Woodridge Rotary Club is pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship  for those who have participated in academic music classes and/or extracurricular music activities. An application, along with additional information, is available online.

Eligibility:

  • You are a graduating senior.  
  • You are a Village of Woodridge resident.
  • You will attend an accredited community college, trade/tech school, or four-year college or university during the 2021-2022 school year.
  • You have participated in academic music class in high school and/or extracurricular music activities.
  • Pursuit of an undergraduate music major or minor is not required.
  • Composers and/or arrangers qualify for this scholarship.
  • Financial need is not a criterion for selection.

2021 Junior Woman's Club Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes Woodridge high school seniors for their community service contributions, as well as scholastic achievement. Community service includes: volunteer work for community organizations, service oriented
school organizations, individual efforts to help others and improve the local community, and activities connected with service-learning programs in the school district, among others. This is a one-time $500.00 scholarship payable to the educational institution after proof of enrollment to a post-secondary educational institution.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be high school seniors residing in Woodridge.
  • Two written letters of recommendation will be required.
  • High school transcripts must be attached.
  • Applicants must have maintained a “C” average during high school.
  • All winners must provide proof of enrollment in a college, junior college or technical school within one calendar year of award notification.
