Emergency System Notification

All Call Test: The Woodridge Police Department and CodeRED plan to conduct a system test the week of August 17.  The goal is to reach as many contacts in Woodridge as possible to test the system and encourage people to sign up for the emergency notification system in advance of the upcoming school year. The test checks connection rates – and time is essential in an emergency – plus the accuracy of the contact information database.

The Code Red system sends telephone calls, text messages, and/or emails to inform residents and help protect life and property. Woodridge selected CodeRED for its reliability and accuracy, as well as the system’s widespread adoption rates across the U.S. No one should automatically assume they are in the emergency contact database. Public safety officials across the United States have credited CodeRED notifications for successfully locating missing children, apprehending wanted criminals, and issuing timely evacuations.
